BHUBANESWAR: The tourism potential of Odisha has failed to hold the attention of foreign tourists, who are staying for shorter periods in the state.
A latest survey by the state tourism department revealed that the average duration of their stay has come down to 11 days in 2013 from 15 days recorded in 2008. The last survey was conducted in 2008.
The official survey, conducted on the basis of statements of 1,000 foreign tourists, revealed that the overseas tourists spent only seven days in the state during peak seasons (November to February).
