BHUBANESWAR: The skies have opened up and the appetite of the city's gastronomes too has been fired up. Several city hotels are offering mouthwatering fare as they host special food festivals.

From spicy biryani to Lebanese cuisine, you're spoilt for choice.

With an assortment of 32 items, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, Hotel Swosti Premium is hosting a Lebanese food festival that aims at offering food lovers a taste of the celebrated cuisine.

"Lebanese cuisine is famous for its distinct flavours and is one of the most sought-after cuisines from the Middle-East," said Rajeev Haryani, an international chef.

The dishes include samkeh harra, grilled fish marinated with chilli, citrus and cilantro, and shawarma, marinated meat cooked with pickles, tomatoes and other tangy condiments. A variety of sauces and dips are also available. "

People like to experiment. So, anything that offers them a diversion from their regular meals are welcome.

The festival concludes on July 20," said executive chef of the hotel Satyabrata Jana.

You can also savour traditional Indian cuisine. A fusion biryani festival at a restaurant offers fare such as tandoori aloo biryani, paneer tikka biryani, chilli mushroom biryani, chicken lollipop biryani, fish biryani, and mutton chaap biryani.
