Hotel Swosti Premium:Sizzle All The Way

For all the foodies out there, if you wish to relish a sizzling platter, make a pit stop at the ongoing Sizzler food festival at Hotel Swosti Premium at Jaydev vihar in the city.

A ‘sizzler’ consists of the meal being served on a cast iron plate, which is in turn placed on a heated wooden base and is served sizzling-hot. The ‘Sizzlers’ in all likelihood originated several centuries ago in the west when meat was served on a heated cast iron plate keep it piping hot while the diner ate his meal. Today, however, they have carved out a niche for themselves. A sizzler is a combination of a main dish served with a choice of sauces and a variety of accompaniments like salads, making it a complete meal in it-self. An array of sizzlers customized according to local tastes is available at the festival presented in a creative manner resulting in delectable combinations and tantalizing flavors.

Platter comprising mouth-watering meat, seafood and vegetarian food are available. “People like to experiment; hence anything that offers them a diversion from their regular routine will be welcomed. Sizzler is a new concept for the city foodies so we thought of proving a taste of the same, “said Satyabrata Jana, executive chef at the hotel. While the ‘Barbeque Cheese Sizzler’, diced cottage cheese skewered and grilled, and served with saffron rice and stuffed tamato, will bowl you over with its flavor. The ‘Chicken Potli Sizzler’, which is chicken keema balls cooked in Chinese style served with fried rice or noodles, will leave you licking your fingers. A variety of sizzlers are also available in lamb and fish. The sizzlers are priced at 350 rupees for vegetarian platters and go all the way up to 500 rupees for the non-vegetarian ones. The festival is on till March 28.

A wide assortment of sizzling desserts to complete your experience is also available. Try the sizzling volcano, a chocolate base rice pudding served with coffee-toffee sauce, or the honey darshan, sesame-coated flat noodles tossed with honey and served with vanilla ice-cream, if you prefer an out-of-the-box menu.”
